Popdance is a modern pop dance style that combines contemporary pop music, choreographic combinations, energetic movement and stage performance. At Tendance dance school in Klaipėda it's one of the most popular styles, made for people who want to dance in a modern way — without the formality of ballroom and Latin, and without the street feel of hip-hop.
It's a very popular style with teenagers who love pop music, stage performance and group activity. Many Popdance dancers regularly take part in Tendance concerts and city events.
First steps: rhythm, simple combinations, playful elements. 1–2 classes per week of 45–60 min.
More complex choreography, stage awareness, first performances. 2 classes per week.
The full program: style, expression, stage character. Performing at Tendance concerts and events.
Hip-hop is a street dance style with an urban aesthetic. Popdance is more choreographic, with stage elements, pop music energy and teen-friendly themes.
Ballroom and Latin dance has a strict structure, a competition system and a partnered format. Popdance is more relaxed, group-based, without competition pressure, and with much more stage action.
Breakdance is an acrobatic, individual style. Popdance is group-based, with choreography for everyone and less demand on physical strength.
Yes. Popdance is a gender-neutral style — energetic, modern, free of stereotypes. Both girls and boys take part in our groups.
No. Popdance is one of the most accessible styles for beginners. Many families start with Popdance and only later — if the child enjoys it — move on to more demanding styles.
POP DIVA is a Tendance summer camp built specifically for Popdance fans (ages 10–15). A week of intensive training, stage work, friendships and a concert at the end. More info on the camps page.
